Details:

ESP are engaged by the Client to undertake Geotechnical Assessments and Aggregate Compliance Assessments at a series of quarries (including sand and gravel pits) across Ireland.
Our assessments initially involved site inspections undertaken by a Chartered Geologist from ESP. An extensive review of previous assessments alongside collation and review of historic and recent laboratory compliance testing is being carried out.
To support Aggregate Compliance, the results of recent and current laboratory testing was reviewed against relevant guidance, including SR21 and SR16 to establish compliance with the required testing regime and frequency.
Recommendations were made with regards to the further testing requirements and frequency to ensure future compliance.
Geotechnical Assessments of the rock quarries and sand and gravel pits, were undertaken where relevant and in accordance with Regulations 19 and 54 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Quarries) Regulations 2008 and the guidelines of the Safe Quarry document published by the Health and Safety Authority (202). Recommendations for the frequency of further Geotechnical Inspections to support regulatory consultation are being provided by ESP.
